Doing Cardio When Don’t Have Time to Go to the Gym

Cardio does not have to be boring and monotonous. There are a lot of fun ways to spike your heart rate while at home. You don’t have to spend a lot of money enrolling for a gym. Cardio workouts are of great benefit to your body because they help you maintain a healthier weight, promote a stronger core, and helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. If you want to lose some pounds, cardio is the way to go. The other great thing about cardio is that it doesn’t require you to work out for a whole two hours or so. As long as you master the right exercises, maintain a balanced diet, and have the proper form, you can begin to see results within a few months. Below are some cardio workouts for you to do at home.

Skipping Rope

Skipping a rope is one of the easiest ways to incorporate cardio while at home. You only need a good pair of shoes, a jump rope, and some practice. Besides, ropes occupy little space, are cheap and require little skill. Skipping a rope requires you to turn it as many times as possible while jumping over it. For good results, turn the rope with your wrist and not the whole arm. As you progress, you may add some variations such as crossing the feet, using one foot while jumping, making the entire experience enjoyable. Tune on the radio if you need extra motivation.

Squats are another form of cardio. There are several types of squats. Squat jumps are great because they help to burn a lot of calories while enhancing the power of your legs. To do squat jumps, start by standing erect with your feet spread apart, and rest your hands on the sides of your body. Stretch your hands parallel to the floor and get into a squat. For efficiency, tuck in your core muscles and jump as high as you can. You can also lift your hands above your head as you skip. Do several repetitions until you feel you cannot do more. While jumping, avoid bending your shoulders or any other part of your body. Jump with your whole foot and not your toes.

Working out at home requires a lot of discipline and dedication, considering the many distractions that might occur at home. However, if you are determined, you can still achieve your fitness goals. As long as you are keen enough to master the different forms in each exercise, you can still build your dream body. Consider trying out the above activities while at home.
